Book Review: Warm Bodies (Warm Bodies #1) by Isaac Marion

Title: Warm Bodies
Series: Warm Bodies #1
Author: Isaac Marion
Publisher: Atria Books
Publication Date: April 26th, 2011
Edition: Kindle
Source: Bought

Synopsis: Now a major motion picture from Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the blockbuster Twilight series and the upcoming movie Insurgent, starring Academy Award Nominee John Malkovich, Nicholas Hoult, and Teresa Palmer and directed by Jonathan Levine.

R is having a no-life crisis—he is a zombie. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he is a little different from his fellow Dead. He may occasionally eat people, but he’d rather be riding abandoned airport escalators, listening to Sinatra in the cozy 747 he calls home, or collecting souvenirs from the ruins of civilization.

And then he meets a girl.

First as his captive, then his reluctant guest, Julie is a blast of living color in R’s gray landscape, and something inside him begins to bloom. He doesn't want to eat this girl—although she looks delicious—he wants to protect her. But their unlikely bond will cause ripples they can’t imagine, and their hopeless world won’t change without a fight.

Review: The reason that I picked this book up is because I saw the trailer for the movie and fell in love, both with the plot line and Nicholas Hoult...shhh! I am so glad that I picked up this book though. I thought the movie was amazing, but the book was even better. Hearing the zombie's point of view was a new experience and it was a very welcome new experience. You never get to hear their story in zombie media and I really enjoyed it. I loved hearing Julie and R's story, it was romantic with just the right amount of horror stuck in there. The bonies scared me. Flat out freaked me out. They were creepy. I loved how the author added humor into the story, I laughed my a** off throughout the book. I loved R, he was so sweet and cute. I have a little bit of a fictional crush haha

I loved the best friends in this book, both Julie's and R's! They were great!

I'm keeping this review short and sweet because I should have had this review out a lot earlier. I got busy and I forgot about it so it's been a while since I read the book. I do remember that I loved it and I am so excited that the author decided on doing a sequel, I cannot wait for it to come out. I recommend this to everyone. Read it! Now! lol
